NFRC welcomes CITB’s 2025–26 Business Plan
NFRC (National Federation of Roofing Contractors) welcomes the Construction Industry Training Board’s (CITB) 2025‑26 Business Plan and its central three priorities:
-
Inform and enable diverse, skilled people into construction
-
Develop a training and skills system to meet current and future needs
-
Support the industry to train and develop its workforce
“The CITB’s pillars essentially mirror the core of NFRC's own Skills Strategy,” says Ruth Scarrott, NFRC Head of Careers. “It’s encouraging to see the national plan align so closely with the pathway the roofing sector has been championing for the past few years.”
“Roofing employers want less paperwork and more action. The CITB’s increased commitment to simpler grants and employer networks is a welcome step in the right direction that should pay dividends.”
The Business Plan underlines the value of closer collaboration with trade bodies, and NFRC has already observed greater engagement from them as a result of the Farmer review.
NFRC urges roofing contractors to tap into its Career Service for bespoke guidance on recruitment, up‑skilling and accessing CITB funding.
“If you’re unsure how CITB’s proposals translate into real benefits for your business, contact [email protected],” Scarrott advises. “We can help you align your workforce plan with the new national framework.”
By working together, NFRC and CITB will continue to help the sector attract new talent, raise competence and build the resilient, diverse workforce the UK roofing industry needs.
