Who we work with

Collaborative working

NFRC is always looking for opportunities to collaborate with like-minded organisations and individuals to take action on the issues impacting our Members.

Our goals often align with those of the wider construction and business sectors, and we have a strong network of allies across the UK and internationally. We understand that we will not achieve real progress alone, and we encourage you to explore our key policy priorities below. If you would like to work together, please get in touch at [email protected]

Policy work

NFRC lobbies government and other regulatory bodies—in Westminster and the devolved administrations—to drive construction policy that better serves our Members and UK consumers at large. Roofing and the wider construction sector are crucial to the Labour government achieving its promises to kickstart economic growth, make Britain a clean energy superpower, revitalise UK education infrastructure, and build an NHS fit for the future. For these promises to become a reality, industry-driven reform is essential.

Professionalism

Severe skills shortages are felt sector-wide. NFRC is focused on addressing this complex problem by upholding high standards of professionalism for our Members, providing in-depth technical documents, and constant training. Professionalism adds value to the industry, driving attraction and competency simultaneously.

Fair payment

Fair payment for work done is essential. Poor payment practices and unfair retentions plague our Members, and reform is desperately needed. The government is making the right noises about addressing these issues, but we must continue to drive for real change.

Productivity

The uptake of new technologies, building information modelling, and different techniques are crucial in addressing the construction industry's productivity problems. These initiatives are especially critical if the roofing industry is to play its pivotal role in the UK's net-zero strategy.

External stakeholders

"NFRC is a valued Trade Association member of Build UK, and many of its Members are a core part of the supply chain for our Contractor and Client Members.  The support, technical advice and guidance provided by NFRC to the roofing sector helps deliver the competent individuals and organisations the industry needs."
